Dongguan city is located in the south part of Mainland China. It has a population of 8 million (2011). Originally the source of manufacturing of many of the goods sold around the world, Dongguan has embarked on a mission to change its image from a factory town to a modern dynamic city. Historically, Dongguan was a center for trading and commerce with manufacturers using the many canals and waterways to move their goods from town to town. The location is also known for bulrush grass and the incense tree.
