Read more: Cesar Pelli Dedicates St. Katharine Drexel Chapel in New Orleans It would be an understatement to suggest that building a freestanding religious chapel on campus has been an elusive dream for most of Xavier University of Louisiana’s (XULA) history. That dream is now a reality—one that reportedly exceeds original expectations. Renowned architect Cesar Pelli of Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects in New Haven, Conn., designed and constructed the project, and joined the Archbishop of New Orleans and XULA’s president in officially dedicating the St. Katherine Drexel Chapel in New Orleans on Oct. 6, 2012.

Read more: Domusstudio Architecture Redesigns Church to Increase OutreachConstruction is slated to break ground in September 2012 for a grand scale interior and exterior makeover of the First Presbyterian Church of Burbank, Calif., where San Diego-based Domusstudio Architecture’s master plan is designed to increase the church’s outreach and support ongoing growth.

“Providing compelling worship facilities is important for Burbank Presbyterian’s effort to outreach into the community,” says David Keitel, senior associate at the Domusstudio. “Their pastor looks forward to a church campus that accommodates an intense level of service.”
